Veronica’s Mom – An Amazing Story of Life and Trust in God

“The fundamental human right, the presupposition of every other right, is the right to life itself. This is true of life from the moment of conception until its natural end. Abortion, consequently, cannot be a human right — it is the very opposite. It is a deep wound in society.” -Pope Benedict XVI

Lisa describes herself as “a faithful Catholic wife and mother of eleven children and 5 possible early miscarriages.” She shared this story on social media, and I felt it was one that needed to be shared with the world. It is a wonderful story of trust in God and love for life.

Here is Lisa’s story …

“When I was 44 years old, my doctor advised me to abort my 10th child, Veronica.

I was almost 6 months pregnant. They took an extra vile of blood, without my consent. I had refused the blood tests to see if the baby would be deformed, etc. … but they ordered it anyway. They told me that Veronica had spinal bifida and I needed to ‘abduct’ her. I said, ‘you mean abort her?’ The doctor said, ‘It isn’t an abortion, because they are abducting a problem.’ I said, ‘No, that is my child that you want to kill.’ I told them, ‘I don’t care if she had problems … I would love her anyway.’

I consecrated Veronica’s health and soul to the Blessed Mother.

I got another OB doctor. I had to tell him why I left the other OB doctor and he said, ‘Are you crazy?!’ (for being pregnant with my 10th child). He was so angry, and when I first met him he shook his head at me and said he was a professional and he couldn’t tell me what he really felt about women like me.

Veronica was born 10 pounds 15 ounces. She was born on Good Friday, April 13th. Veronica was perfectly healthy, to the shock of all the doctors and nurses …

… I made sure to call that doctor’s office up to let them know.”
