“We Didn’t Want to Take a Step Without it Being in God’s Will”

A US Marine and his bride to be captured the hearts of the nation when their wedding photographer shared an image of the two of them praying together just moments before their ceremony.

US Marine Corps Corporal Caleb Earwood and his fiancee Maggie, both from Asheville, North Carolina, stood back-to-back with their eyes closed as they each said a prayer, during which Caleb explained he thanked God for blessing him with such a beautiful wife.

“We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will,” said Caleb, “I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into.”

Yes … he is blessed with a beautiful and intelligent wife, but I wonder if Maggie’s tears of joy in this picture are for knowing she is about to spend the rest of her life with a “man’s man” … God fearing and willing to lay down his life for such a noble cause.

“There is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come” (Mark 10:29-30).
