Pope Francis Calls for Worldwide Adoration and Confession!
God is so amazing!! On the “exact same day” (March 14 … which is also “PI Day“) the Holy League had plans to announce the initiative/movement to promote worldwide monthly Holy Hours of Adoration and Confession, the Holy Father calls for the very same initiative! WOW! I really do believe God has a sense of humor. Or, at the very least, I believe God wants this movement for all of us “right now.”

VATICAN CITY — On March 13-14, the Vatican is hoping churches worldwide will participate in an initiative to stay open for 24 hours to underline the need for prayer, contemplation of the Eucharist and a chance to go to confession.
Pope Francis will open the Lenten initiative, called “24 Hours for the Lord” by presiding at a penitential celebration in St. Peter’s Basilica on March 13.
Following the conclusion of this service, a number of churches throughout Rome will remain open for 24 hours, with confessors available as well as Eucharistic adoration.
The Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, which is organizing the initiative, has invited dioceses, parishes and communities around the world to adapt the initiative to their local situations and needs …

How the Holy League Fits In
Very simply put, the Holy League is a movement that is asking all Catholic apostolates, speakers, writers, organizations, etc. to ban together to promote this movement of monthly Holy Hours of Adoration and Confession in every parish. Living in a world bent on separating us from the Divine Life of God – a State of Grace – these Holy Hours are meant to “plug us back into” a life filled with God’s “Amazing Grace.”
Venerable Fulton Sheen put it this way:
Neither theological knowledge nor social action alone is enough to keep us in love with Christ unless both are proceeded by a personal encounter with Him. Theological insights are gained not only from between two covers of a book, but from two bent knees before an altar. The HOLY HOUR becomes like an oxygen tank to revive the breath of the Holy Spirit in the midst of the foul and fetid atmosphere of the world.
